  2.  PLANET OF GIANTS.   Written by Louis Marks.   3 Episodes.

  5.  Planet of Giants, Dangerous Journey, Crisis.

  7.  COMPANIONS:- Ian, Barbara and Susan.

  9.    The travellers materialise on Earth in modern times, only to find that
  10.  they have shrunk to just an inch in height after an accidental opening of
  11.  the TARDIS doors during flight. 
  12.  They find dead insects of all types and the Doctor concludes that some kind
  13.  of insecticide is responsible. This is no ordinary insecticide, it kills
  14.  without distinction wiping out whole sections of the food chain. 
  15.   The inventor of DN6 plans to push through its eventual release to the
  16.  market even though he knows it will destroy all insect life on Earth. He has
  17.  put all his money and years of research into the project and resorts to
  18.  murder to ensure his plans will work.
  19.   Barbara is poisoned when some of the insecticide gets through her skin 
  20.  and the Doctor faces a race against time to get her back to the TARDIS for
  21.  treatment. The travellers also learn of the DN6 plan and manage to alert
  22.  the police who catch the villain.
  23.   This story is most notable for the excellent large scale sets designed by
  24.  Ray Cusick, who also designed the Daleks.
